The call came in just after dawn – the kind that makes you grab your coffee a little tighter. "Big rig down on Highway 400, south of King," the dispatcher's voice crackled. "Looks like a bearing seized up on the trailer axle. Driver's stranded and needs a mobile trailer mechanic urgently."

The logistics manager at AVD manufacturing  in Vaughan had a familiar end-of-quarter challenge: getting their entire fleet of twenty trailers through annual safety inspections without disrupting crucial deliveries. Production schedules were tight. Downtime was the enemy.
